Frequently Asked Questions About Our Alafaya Area Endodontics Practice

Why would I need to see an endodontist instead of my regular dentist?
While general dentists are skilled in a wide range of dental care, an endodontist is a specialist with at least two additional years of advanced training focused exclusively on diagnosing and treating issues inside the tooth. Your dentist might refer you to an endodontist for complex cases or when the diagnosis is uncertain. If you're experiencing severe tooth pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, or swelling and tenderness in the nearby gums, an endodontist has the specialized equipment, techniques, and experience to provide the precise care you need to save your tooth. At Advanced Endodontics, this is our sole focus, and we perform these procedures daily, ensuring the highest level of expertise.
How close are your offices to Alafaya?
Our two Winter Park offices are conveniently located for residents of Alafaya. Our Winter Park - Lakemont office is at 201 N. Lakemont Ave., Suite 2400, and our Winter Park - Morse office is at 400 W. Morse Blvd., Suite 102. Both locations are just a short drive from the Alafaya area, making it easy to access specialized endodontic care without having to travel far from home. We are dedicated to serving the entire Central Florida community and have situated our offices to be as accessible as possible.
What makes Advanced Endodontics different from other practices?
At Advanced Endodontics, we combine state-of-the-art technology with a deeply compassionate, patient-first philosophy. We understand the anxiety associated with root canals, and our entire team is trained to create a calming and supportive environment. We utilize the latest technology, including laser-assisted endodontics, to ensure treatments are more efficient, less invasive, and have faster recovery times. We welcome same-day emergency appointments and do not require a referral. Our goal is to make your experience as comfortable as possible while delivering the highest standard of clinical care to save your natural teeth.
What types of services do you offer?

Endodontics is more than just root canals. While non-surgical root canal therapy is our most common procedure, we offer a comprehensive range of services to save your teeth. These include root canal retreatment for teeth that have become re-infected, and apicoectomy (root-end surgery) for when traditional root canal therapy isn't enough. We also specialize in treating cracked teeth, internal and external resorption, and traumatic dental injuries. For our younger patients, we provide apexogenesis and apexification to help immature teeth continue to develop properly. We are equipped to handle any endodontic emergency you may be facing.

What can I expect during my first visit?
Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities. During your first visit, you will be greeted by our friendly staff, who will guide you through the initial paperwork. Our endodontist will then conduct a thorough examination, which may include digital X-rays, to accurately diagnose the source of your pain. We believe in empowering our patients, so we will take the time to explain our findings, discuss all available treatment options, and answer any questions you have. We will ensure you are fully informed and comfortable with your personalized treatment plan before proceeding. Our goal is for you to leave our office feeling relieved, confident, and on the path to a healthy, pain-free smile.
