Services We Provide

  • Consultation: We can assess your dental problem and help you understand your treatment options. We will help you learn how we can relieve your pain and improve your quality of life while potentially saving your teeth.
  • Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy: The endodontist will control the infection inside your tooth by removing the inflamed pulp from the crown and root canals. After removing the infected material, the endodontist shapes and smooths the inside of the root canals to prevent future issues. The endodontist fills the tooth with a protective plastic material and reseals it with a temporary crown.
  • Non-Surgical Root Canal Retreatment: Most root canals are successful, but occasionally, inflamed material left behind inside the tooth can cause a repeat infection. In this case, the endodontist will reopen the tooth, treat it again, and reseal it.
  • Apicoectomy (Endodontic Surgery): Sometimes, infected material lingers in the root tip (the apex) and needs removal. This surgical procedure involves making a small flap in the gum to access the apex. The endodontist cuts the apex and removes the infection, resealing it against further contamination and securing the gum tissue.
  • Single-Tooth Internal Bleaching: Root canals can sometimes cause internal tooth discoloration. We can bleach these teeth from the inside and restore their youthful, attractive appearance.
  • Internal Resorption: Dental trauma and certain medical conditions can cause internal resorption, where the tooth starts to break down from the inside. Endodontists can save these teeth by performing root canals and introducing calcium hydroxide to reharden them.
  • Apexogenesis: This procedure encourages the root to develop by removing the inflamed pulp and replacing it with bioceramic material that preserves the living tissue.
  • External Resorption: This severe problem occurs when the immune system dissolves the tooth's root structure.  When the body thinks a tooth is infected, it attacks the bone that supports the tooth. This can cause the tooth to loosen and fall out. Removing the nerve can stop the body from attacking the bone. Causes include tooth infection, unerupted teeth in the jaw, and orthodontic treatments. The endodontist can repair the tooth using a root canal and calcium hydroxide.
  • Apexification: Children may sometimes have underdeveloped roots. Apexification helps to create a calcified barrier at the root tip that protects the tooth and may save it from extraction.
  • Laser Endodontics: We use specialized dental lasers to make our treatments safer, faster, and more comfortable. Laser dentistry provides excellent results with faster healing times.
  • Emergency Treatment: Dental care can't always wait for a scheduled appointment. If you have experienced a dental injury, a chipped or cracked tooth, or pain interfering with your ability to complete normal activities, call us for a prompt appointment. Call 407-494-3636 to reach our Emergency After Hours Dental Care Helpline after 8 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions About Endodontic Care

Can a root canal save my tooth?
In many cases, root canals can save natural teeth from extraction. They relieve pain and restore the tooth to its full intended function. When capped with a crown, the tooth will look and feel natural and give you many more years of use.
Are root canals painful?
The popular belief that root canals are painful comes from information from several decades ago. Today's root canals are comfortable, safe, and straightforward procedures aided by advances like laser technology. Most patients today report that a root canal is no more trouble than a standard filling.
What happens if I put off a root canal?

If your dentist informed you that you need a root canal, there is no need to suffer through the pain. We can often take away your pain in just one appointment.
